About Net Yield

Our story: From commercial property to communications

Net Yield was founded by Andrew Barber, a former commercial property surveyor who understands the industry from the inside.

Before moving into PR and communications, Andrew spent several years working in commercial property, advising occupiers, landlords and investors. That experience provided first-hand insight into how deals are negotiated, how markets evolve and how businesses make property decisions.

It also revealed a challenge that still exists today.

Many property firms have deep expertise, but struggle to communicate it effectively.

Net Yield was established to bridge that gap, helping commercial property businesses build their profile, share their knowledge and strengthen their reputation through strategic communications.

Since it was established, the consultancy has worked with property agents, developers, investors, consultants, asset managers, occupiers and proptech businesses across the UK and internationally.

A specialist focus

Commercial property is a specialist sector. It has its own language, market dynamics and audience expectations. That is why Net Yield focuses exclusively on commercial property and the built environment.

We understand the difference between office, industrial, retail, leisure and investment markets. We understand what makes a transaction newsworthy, what journalists are looking for and how to translate technical expertise into content that informs, engages and builds credibility.

For our clients, that means less time explaining the basics and more time focusing on what matters.

Why Net Yield is different

Most communications consultants learn PR first and property second. Net Yield was built the other way around.

Our roots in commercial property help us understand the pressures facing clients, whether that is attracting occupiers, raising investment, supporting a development project, building a personal profile or responding to changing market conditions.

We combine that sector knowledge with expertise in media relations, content creation, thought leadership and digital visibility. The result is communications that are grounded in industry understanding rather than generic marketing advice.

Visibility has changed, the principles have not

When Net Yield was founded, visibility largely meant media coverage. Later, search engines became an essential part of the communications mix. Today, AI-powered search tools are changing how people discover information, research businesses and evaluate expertise.

The channels may have changed, but the fundamentals remain remarkably consistent.

Authority. Credibility. Insight.

Businesses that provide useful expertise, earn media coverage and publish valuable content are more likely to be discovered, whether someone is reading a trade publication, using Google or asking an AI assistant for guidance.

That is why the skills that have always mattered in PR continue to matter today.

Building authority where decisions are made

Our role is to help clients raise their profile where decisions are made.

That may involve media relations, thought leadership, content creation, websites, social media, search visibility or guidance on emerging areas such as AI search and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).

These are not separate disciplines.

They are all part of the same challenge: helping organisations become recognised, trusted and easy to find.

We call this authority-led visibility.

By combining commercial property expertise with modern communications strategies, Net Yield helps clients build credibility across the channels that influence today's business decisions.

Looking ahead

The commercial property sector continues to evolve, and so does the way people consume information.

Net Yield remains focused on helping clients adapt to those changes without losing sight of what has always mattered: clear communication, trusted relationships and useful expertise.

Because while technology changes, trust still drives decisions.
